Since 1998, Neil F. Blumofe has touched the congregants of Agudas Achim and the larger Austin area, bringing people together in a spiritual community. He has given guidance, healing and direction. He has reached across religious boundaries to Christian and Muslim communities. He responded to the tragedy of 9-11 by creating a new Austin annual tradition of “Many Lands, Many Faiths,” world music concert -- an evening of diverse and uplifting music.

You’ve heard his observations on KUT radio. He has testified on school prayer in the Texas Legislature. His voice and jazz music has filled many venues. A man of conviction and passion for living an intentional life, he recently received ordination as a rabbi after completing years of study at both the Academy of Jewish Religion – California and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.

Now the beloved Hazzan (cantor) is becoming the rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim, connecting Jews to God, to Torah and to one another. Come celebrate and be a part of the community of caring people that he inspires.
